What we fix, replace, and maintain

Heating, cooling, and refrigeration for homes, businesses, and new construction across Dallas–Fort Worth.

Repair or replace? We price both.

A repair usually makes sense on a younger, maintained system. Replacement starts to make sense when the repairs stack up. You decide.

How we decide: repair or replace

An 18-year-old condenser with rusted panels and bent fins The same spot with a new Trane XV20i, insulated line set, and wall disconnect New system18 years old
Drag or use the arrow keys. Replacements are sized for the house, not copied from the old unit, and the old equipment is hauled away. Financing: 0% APR up to 18 months through Hearth on qualifying projects, subject to credit approval.

Two tune-ups a year for $169

The Community Club is one membership per system, billed once a year. We tune up the AC in spring and the heat in fall. A house with an upstairs and a downstairs unit has two memberships.

  • Spring cooling tune-up
  • Fall heating tune-up
  • 10% off parts, repairs, and full replacements
  • Reminders and scheduling by text

The best equipment for the job, at the best price

For most jobs, we believe that’s Trane for split systems and Mitsubishi Electric for mini-splits. We service most other makes and models too.

  • Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor logoMitsubishi Electric Diamond ContractorMitsubishi Electric’s multi-stage, in-depth training keeps Diamond Contractors current on its equipment, new technology, and installation practices. Qualifying systems can get a Mitsubishi Electric warranty of up to 12 years.
  • JB Warranties logoA 10-year labor warranty on every replacementMost systems from other companies come with a 10-year equipment warranty that covers parts, not labor, so a breakdown can still mean a large bill. Not with Community Mechanical. Every system replacement includes a 10-year labor warranty through JB Warranties, so a repair down the road doesn’t become a surprise bill.

Our upstairs unit would not come on and it was 94 degrees upstairs in our game room… Within a few minutes he found the problem and within 1.5 hours grandkids were back upstairs, in the cool, shooting pool.

Of course it broke Saturday evening, the communication through text was almost immediate… My service tech, Elliott, was awesome! He arrived exactly when he said he would, had the part on hand, gave me the price for the repair and finished the work quickly.

Paul, the technician, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and honest throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain what was going on with my system and never made me feel pressured into unnecessary work.

I had a 18 yr old unit that I was pretty much on borrowed time… They provided a solution to even out temperatures in multiple rooms on the 2nd floor, provided a fair estimate, and completed the installation on schedule.

I just signed up for the service plan for my units after Travis (owner) helped get a tech (Alex) out in short order… Very happy to not feel dread about trying to get my units worked on or serviced.

They could very easily have charged me anything, but they checked everything, and all was well with the system. All I needed were new air filters. I GREATLY appreciate their honesty and quality.

Paul was able to come earlier than scheduled which I appreciated. He changed my filters and went right to work servicing my A/C unit. He was respectful, professional and friendly.

Local and family-owned since 2005

Nopp’s A/C Shop opened in March 2005. When its owner retired in October 2024, Chris, Travis, and Drew took over and renamed it Community Mechanical. Still local. Still family-owned.

Questions we get a lot

Do you charge to come out?

Yes, the trip fee is $79. It covers what it takes to get a truck to your door: gas, insurance, and vehicle upkeep. If we can’t fix the problem on that first visit, any labor from it is credited toward the return repair visit.

How fast can you get here in summer?

Many times it’s the same day or the next day. It depends on how full the schedule is, so call (469) 667-7290 and we’ll give you the soonest opening.

Repair or replace: what makes sense for a 15-year-old system?

It depends on the shape it’s in. A repair usually makes sense when the system has been maintained and the repair is a small share of a new one. Replacing starts to make sense when repairs keep coming, it uses a phased-out refrigerant, or it can’t keep up in July. We price both and you decide.

What does the Community Club cover?

A spring cooling tune-up, a fall heating tune-up, and 10% off parts, repairs, and full replacements. It’s $169 a year per system, so a house with an upstairs and a downstairs unit has two memberships.

Do you work nights and weekends?

The office is open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. From Memorial Day through September 30, on-call nights and weekends are guaranteed. The rest of the year, call anyway: technicians are often available, and we run on-call for extreme weather.

Which areas do you serve?

Dallas County, Tarrant County, and the eight counties that touch them: Collin, Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Johnson, Parker, and Wise. Not sure you’re in range? Call (469) 667-7290 and we’ll tell you straight.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. 0% APR for up to 18 months through Hearth on qualifying projects, subject to credit approval.

What equipment do you use?

We use the best equipment to get the job done at the best price. For most jobs, we believe that’s Trane for split systems and Mitsubishi Electric for mini-splits. We’re a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor and a Trane Comfort Specialist, and both designations take extra training to earn. We service most other makes and models too.

Do new systems come with a warranty?

Yes. Every system replacement includes a 10-year labor warranty through JB Warranties, with no deductible, and it transfers free if you sell your home. Mitsubishi Electric systems we install in single-family homes can also qualify for a manufacturer warranty of up to 12 years when registered within 90 days.
